Nine Representations of a Form

Six paintings and three photographs, each 12”x 48”
1993

A work evolving from the physical stresses experienced in the transcription of a music score (notation) into the manufacture of sequential sound (music). How could this be rendered in terms of form, line and colour (painting)? Once again the concept and function of the diagrammatic is central to the work.

Nine Representations of a Movement

Six paintings and three photographs, each 12”x 48”
1993

The work functions in much the same way as the previous ‘Representations of a Form’. It records a movement of the body through 180 degrees, identifying specific ‘moments’ in the course of the body’s movement.
