A body of work evolving from a research programme investigating the
function and relationship of the notation of music to the practice of
painting. The title of the work comes from the Phoenician system of
reading and writing ‘Boustrophedon’ or ox-plough, a to-ing and fro-ing
through the text. This enabled a pictorial structure and colour system
that formed the basis for the paintings.
